Postpartum Therapy for Moms in West Palm Beach, Florida & Long Island,New York

Feel more like yourself again with postpartum therapy and counseling for new mothers in West Palm Beach, FL and Long Island, NY

You just had a baby. You’ve been waiting and planning for this for so long.  Plus everyone told you it would be magical. And some moments are, but a lot of it? It's hard as hell and this isn’t what you expected motherhood to look like.

You're exhausted in a way sleep can't fix and you’re running on fumes. . Your body doesn't feel like yours anymore and sometimes you feel so touched out that you can’t handle it.  Your brain is foggy from the lack of sleep, juggling so much, and not getting the help you need. . And that partner you love? You might be wondering if you even like them right now.

Here's what no one warns you about: Postpartum isn't just the first six weeks. It's the first year. Sometimes longer. And you don't have to white-knuckle your way through it.

Let’s cut through the noise

This Is What Real Postpartum Looks Like

Maybe you're dealing with:

Postpartum anxiety that won't quit.  Your brain won't stop running worst-case scenarios. You check if the baby's breathing. Again. And again. You're terrified something will go wrong, and you can't shut it off.

Postpartum depression that feels like drowning.  You love your baby, but you feel nothing. Or you feel everything and it's too much. You're going through the motions, but the joy everyone promised? You're still waiting for it.

Rage you didn't see coming.  You snap at your partner over dishes. You want to scream when the baby cries again. The anger is intense, and it scares you because this isn't who you are.

A relationship that's barely holding on.  You and your partner are roommates now, not lovers. You're resentful. They don't get it. And honestly? You're too tired to explain or even think of how to get back to where you guys use to be. .

The version of yourself you lost.  You look in the mirror and don't recognize who's looking back. Your old life feels like a dream. Your identity? Somewhere between diaper changes and 3am feedings.

Sound familiar? Good. Because we're going to deal with all of it.

Why Work With Me? I Don't Do Surface-Level

I'm Sowania Germain, a licensed mental health counselor specializing in postpartum therapy in Florida and New York. I work with moms online, which means you can show up in your pajamas with spit-up on your shoulder, and no judgment ever. Just show up as you and we’ll start to unpack motherhood experience in postpartum therapy.

Here's what you need to know about how I work:

I'm direct. I won't sugarcoat things or give you generic advice you could find on Instagram. I'll ask the questions you're avoiding and help you face the hard stuff because that's where real change happens.

I'm compassionate, not coddling. You need support, not someone who treats you like you're fragile. I'll hold space for your pain while also believing you're capable of more than you think you are right now.

I make you think deeper. Therapy with me isn't just venting (though we'll do a little of that too). I'll challenge you to look at patterns, question beliefs that aren't serving you, and figure out what you actually need, not what everyone else thinks you should need.

Why am I passionate about supporting postpartum moms?  Because I've been there. In 2011, I had a traumatic birth. My partner and I felt completely alone. That experience changed me and showed me what real support looks like, and what it doesn't. I became a therapist because I never want another mom to feel that isolated.

What We'll Actually Work On Together

What to Expect in Postpartum Therapy

First session? We talk. I want to know what's actually going on, not the filtered version you tell your mom or post on social media. I'll ask questions that might surprise you, and we'll start mapping out what needs to change.

From there, we'll use a mix of approaches:

  • EMDR therapy for trauma and overwhelming experiences

  • Cognitive-behavioral strategies to challenge unhelpful thought patterns

  • Attachment work to understand how your past impacts your present

  • Practical tools you can use immediately (because theory is great, but you need results)

I don't do cookie-cutter therapy. What works for one mom won't work for another, so we'll figure out what you need.

Let's Talk Real Quick About What Therapy Isn't

Therapy with me isn't:

  • A place where I tell you you're doing great when you're not

  • A space where we avoid hard conversations

  • An hour of me nodding while you talk in circles

  • A magic fix (it's work, and it takes time)

What it IS:

  • A place where you can be brutally honest

  • A partnership where we figure this out together

  • A safe space to fall apart and put yourself back together

  • Worth every single minute
