When Every Month Becomes a Waiting Game

When you’re hoping for a baby, it can be hard not to imagine that this will be the month your life changes. You may tell yourself to wait before taking a test, but a small part of you has already pictured seeing those two lines. When your cycle comes, it can feel like saying goodbye to something you had barely allowed yourself to hope for.

Then someone you love announces a pregnancy, and you’re trying to smile while holding back your own sadness. Being happy for them doesn’t make your longing disappear. You can care about their happiness and still need some space to feel what this brings up for you.

It can be lonely, especially when reassurance doesn’t help or your partner experiences the waiting differently. Sometimes you just need someone to sit beside you and understand how much this matters.

Our practice specializes in supporting mothers, those wishing to become mothers, and couples navigating this experience together. We work alongside a caring network of fertility doctors, doulas, midwives, and other providers to help connect you with support that fits your needs. Whether you come on your own or with your partner, there is room here to talk honestly about how you’re doing, without having to put on a brave face.
